Terms of Use

The App is not an emergency service and no one monitors it in real time. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, or there is a medical emergency, call 911. For mental-health, suicide, emotional-distress, or substance-use crisis support, call or text 988.

The App is provided for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing in the App is medical, clinical, mental-health, legal, financial, housing, employment, or any other professional advice, and using the App does not create a professional, treatment, counseling, or fiduciary relationship with White Owl Rising. Decisions about detox, medication, treatment, housing, money, transportation, or legal matters should be made with a qualified professional.

White Owl Rising is an independent community resource project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Alcoholics Anonymous, AA World Services, any AA group, Narcotics Anonymous, Al-Anon, Celebrate Recovery, or any treatment, housing, medical, employment, church, or community provider listed in the App.

Listings are compiled from publicly available sources and community submissions. Hours, addresses, phone numbers, meeting times, eligibility rules, bed availability, prices, and program details change frequently and may be inaccurate or out of date.

• The directory is informational and educational only, and is not medical, legal, financial, or professional advice.
• We make no guarantee of accuracy, availability, licensing, eligibility, prices, safety, or outcomes.
• A listing does not imply endorsement, certification, ownership, affiliation, or partnership.
• You must verify services, cost, eligibility, licensing, and safety directly with the organization before you rely on or travel to it.
• Independent treatment, housing, meeting, employer, church, and community providers remain solely responsible for their own conduct, services, staff, facilities, and compliance with law.

If something is wrong, closed, unsafe, or should not be listed, please report it and we will review it.

White Owl Rising does not accept referral fees, patient-brokering payments, per-bed payments, or commissions in exchange for listing, ranking, or referring a person to any treatment, detox, sober living, medical, or employment provider. We do not sell placement in the recovery directories. If a page is ever sponsored, commercial, or paid, it will be clearly identified as such on that page.

The public informational portions of the App are available to people of all ages. The App is a general-audience service and is not directed primarily to children under 13.

Users under 18 should involve a parent, legal guardian, counselor, healthcare professional, or another trusted adult when making decisions involving treatment, housing, health, safety, money, or transportation.

Children under 13 may view public information with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian but may not submit personal information, create an account, send a message or prayer request, upload material, or use a feature that transmits personal information to White Owl Rising unless White Owl Rising has implemented a legally compliant parental-consent process.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising a minor’s use of the App and may contact us at whiteowlrisingofficial@gmail.com regarding a child’s information.

• Use the App lawfully and for your own recovery or to help someone else.
• Do not scrape, bulk-copy, republish, or resell the directory data.
• Do not submit false, harassing, defamatory, or misleading information through any form.
• Do not attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours.

We may remove content or restrict access when these rules are broken.

New public account creation is not currently offered. Existing accounts continue to work and existing data is unchanged. If you have an account, you are responsible for keeping your login secure and for the accuracy of what you enter. We do not guarantee that saved content will be preserved, recoverable, or continuously available, and we may change or remove features at any time.

White Owl Rising is currently being offered as a free beta. Features, resource information, and functionality are still being tested and may contain errors, change, or occasionally be unavailable. Beta access does not guarantee that a feature will remain available in its present form.

Private Toolkit content — including journals, to-do items, habits, prayer lists, and private recovery details — is encrypted on your device and stored only in the browser or app you write in. A limited display-only copy of your recovery start date and time may also be stored locally without Toolkit encryption so the optional recovery counter can continue working while the Toolkit is locked. This display copy is not uploaded to White Owl Rising.

• White Owl Rising does not receive, store, sync, analyze, or back up your Toolkit entries.
• Your entries are not processed by AI and are not sent to any AI provider, analytics service, or third party.
• Entries may be lost if you clear browser, site, or app data, use private browsing, switch browsers or devices, forget your PIN, or lose the device. What an uninstall or app removal leaves behind varies by browser, device, and operating system, so do not rely on uninstalling alone as a secure deletion method. We cannot recover lost entries.
• Anyone who can use your unlocked device or browser profile may be able to read what is stored there. Use a device lock, and delete entries if that is safer for you.
• Deleting an entry, or resetting the Toolkit, removes it from that browser immediately and permanently. Because we never held a copy, there is nothing for us to restore.

White Owl Rising is not a healthcare provider, health insurer, or emergency-response service. The Recovery Toolkit is not intended to serve as an electronic medical record or HIPAA-compliant medical-record system.

The App links to organizations and websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, services, safety, availability, or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement.

The App’s name, owl logo, text, design, original prayers and meditations, and compilation of the directory are owned by White Owl Rising and protected by intellectual-property law. You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes and may share links to it. You may not copy, republish, resell, or create derivative works from the App or its data without our written permission. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners.

The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free availability.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, White Owl Rising, its operator, and its volunteers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, and are not liable for any harm arising from your use of the App, from reliance on a listing, from lost Toolkit entries, or from your interaction with any organization found through the App.

If you are an organization and want your listing corrected, updated, or removed, or if you believe information in the App is inaccurate, contact us at whiteowlrisingofficial@gmail.com or use the report form. We review requests in good faith and act within a reasonable time.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms apply prospectively from their stated effective date. When changes are material, we may provide an in-app notice or request renewed acceptance where appropriate.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for any dispute lies in the state or federal courts located in Texas.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and White Owl Rising regarding the App.

When you create an account, unlock or use the private Recovery Toolkit, submit information, or affirmatively select “I Agree,” you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms. Your use of the public directory is also subject to these Terms.
